This After Effects template allows you to create a colourful 3D line animation in your videos. You can change the colors, path and look of the 3D line with the easy to use controls.
This template uses no third party plugins and comes with a proxy control to work faster as you adjust the 3D line.
How to use
Open the provided After Effects project file and add your video to the main comp.
With the emitter layer, you can animate the position of the line in 3D space.
The controls layer gives a bunch of options to further tweak the look of the 3D line.

The 3D line is created using a particle simulator, which is indeed pretty heavy. However, in the controls layer you can find a proxy toggle. Enable that while you're working. This is a low quality view of the 3D line. Once you're done, disable it and enable the final view toggle to render the video.
